This fall, IMRF employers will elect one Executive Trustee. A nominee for Executive Trustee must be a chief executive officer, chief financial officer, executive, or department head for an IMRF employer. Petitions will be accepted through September 15, 2014.

Executive Trustee Election voting authority
 
All Authorized Agents, regardless of IMRF participation status, may submit a nominating petition and cast a ballot in an Executive Trustee election, provided they have been given authority by their governing body.

If your governing body would like to grant you authority to participate in IMRF elections, IMRF needs to receive a notice of appointment form (Form 2.20). 

Ballots for the 2014 Executive Trustee Election will be mailed in mid-October to employers.
GASB 68 questionnaire due in one week

To make sure your employer complies with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Statement No. 68, you must complete this questionnaire and return it to IMRF by August 22, 2014 (If you have already submitted this form to IMRF, there is no need to submit the form again).

If you do not complete the questionnaire, your employer-specific GASB 68 information may not be available for you to complete your future financial statements.

All IMRF employers who report according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) will need GASB 68 information. If you are unsure whether you prepare GAAP financial statements (accrual basis), consult your auditor.

IMRF will still be providing GASB 50 information to all employers.
